Field work 2

What happened?
Today we took the urine enriched with urea (very expensive) out to the field.
We took soil samples, bagged and labelled.
We put 2500ml of urine on 8/12 units, I put 2500ml h2o on 4 units.
We put urine and water on control units.
We immediate nitrous oxide increase with the urine enriched units - sudden - incredible equipment

What I learnt?
-got to be accurate/consistent - reduce variables
-fieldwork notebook VERY import
-technical equipment is incredible and useful for accurate measuring
-thought out and planned
-this the the fun part at the end of 2 years work
-science is expensive
-it's impossible to take photos and do the work at the same time

Implications for Classroom?
-relevant to understanding - proximal understanding - meaningless if don't understand the bigger picture
- predicting important - helps you make sense of data
-great being in the field
